Military Families
Military Marriage Coaching
Coaching for active-duty, reserve, veteran, and first responder couples. Sessions address the strain service life places on communication, trust, and connection, and help you build habits that hold up when the pressure does not let up.
Sessions are online, 55 minutes, and scheduled around real military life, including separations, field time, shift cycles, and time zones.
Ways to work together
Coaching is shaped around who can attend and what the next season holds. Click a topic to read what each format involves and who it is for.

Couples coaching gives you and your partner a structured space to understand what is happening beneath the surface of the same argument you keep having, and to build a small number of practices that actually change it.
For military couples, sessions account for separation and reintegration instead of treating them as an interruption. When a deployment separates you, coaching can continue with both partners joining from wherever they are, or with one partner working on their side of the relationship while the other is unavailable.
What this looks like in practice
- Rebuilding a shared evening routine after months of running separate routines on separate clocks.
- Deciding together how decisions will get made while one partner is away on orders.
- Working through a recurring argument about phone calls, timing, or divided attention at the end of a duty day.
Individual Spouse Coaching
Sometimes one partner is deployed, not ready, or not willing to join. Individual coaching works on your side of the relationship: what is within your control, where your limits are, and how to respond rather than react.
For the spouse at home this often means navigating a household alone, managing the emotional load of waiting, and deciding how to raise hard things without turning a rare conversation into a fight. For the service member it often means understanding what deployment did to your instincts and how those instincts now land at home.
What this looks like in practice
- Preparing what you actually want to say before a homecoming conversation, instead of saying it in the first ten minutes.
- Setting realistic limits on how much of the household load you can carry alone without resentment building.
- Sorting out whether a pattern is about the marriage or about exhaustion, and naming which one out loud.
Communication & Trust
Communication problems in military marriages are usually less about skill and more about conditions. Time zones, unreliable connections, operational security, and exhaustion make ordinary conversation genuinely hard. Trust is built in small, predictable moments rather than in grand gestures.
Coaching focuses on a simple structure for hard conversations, on what to do when a conversation goes sideways, and on repairing after a rupture instead of avoiding the next one. Couples practice with real situations from their own week, not hypotheticals.
What this looks like in practice
- Replacing 'you never call' with a description of what happened, how it felt, and what you actually need.
- Agreeing on what is shared about work and what stays at work, so that protecting details does not turn into secrecy.
- Choosing a repair phrase both partners can use when an argument slips into old territory.
Coaching Options & Pricing
Coaching is offered as a single session, a three-session package, or a six-session package. Most military couples begin with one session and decide from there. Packages are most useful around a deployment or a homecoming, when several conversations are needed close together.
If cost or scheduling is a barrier, say so during the discovery call. Brian will tell you honestly what is possible and will not push a package you do not need.
What this looks like in practice
- One session before a deployment, focused on building a communication plan.
- A three-session package across a homecoming: one before, one in the first weeks back, one a month later.
- A six-session package through a civilian transition, when identity and structure are both shifting at once.
